Bubba Wallace seems to have no issues with NASCAR despite his team, 23XI Racing, having filed a lawsuit against the organization. During the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Media Day, Wallace was asked if 23XI was being treated fairly with the legal issues.

“No issues,” Wallace said. I have not had anything.” What Bubba Wallace said echoed what NASCAR driver and 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin said when he was asked the same question at the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Media Day. Both drivers are feeling good about where they are with NASCAR ahead of the playoffs, which begin at Darlington on Sunday.

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports’ antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR has taken many twists and turns since the teams’ initial filing last October. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday, in which the court will rule on the preliminary injunction request from the teams.

Ahead of the preliminary injunction hearing, the teams filed two new documents. The first clarifies what they are seeking from the injunction. They state what their requests are from the court, should they rule in favor of the teams. The second filing is a reply in further support of the motion for a preliminary injunction. It basically outlines the argument the teams have for why they deserve the injunction. So, we have the demands, essentially, and the evidence that supports why the injunction should be granted.

The teams want a preliminary injunction that does the following:– Prevents NASCAR and its representatives and agents from “selling, transferring, assigning, leasing, conveying or otherwise disposing of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Charter Member Agreements belonging to the #23, #35, #45, #4, #34, and #38 cars.”

– Forces NASCAR to allow 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports three race cars each (six total) in all Cup Series races with the rights and obligations of fully chartered teams.

Wallace has returned to he playoffs after missing them last season. He clinched a spot in the postseason after winning the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July. He became the first Black driver to win any major race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.
