Lexi Hall sustained quite a gruesome knot in the middle of her throwhead last matchup. They actually, you know, did a scan. Alexi Hall is going to show up and show out tomorrow in LA. I am fully angry at the coaching staff at the at the training staff at the Indiana Fever. She looks like she got into a 12round boxing fight.
This league is so physical. Lexi been in the league for quite some time. Itās Itās not doing great. I wish this was a filter, but this is this isnāt exciting. This is what Iām playing. The Indiana Fever recently experienced two incidents that stunned the WNBA community during a season full of drama. A couple days removed after the headbutt with Gabby Williams.
She looks like she got into a 12round boxing fight. After suffering a terrifying injury, Lexi Hall appeared as though she had been through a whole round of boxing. But she wasnāt going to give up. The fact that sheās warming up with the team is a huge positive is a legitimately huge positive for the Indiana Fever longterm.

It means Caitlyn Clark is probably coming back sooner sooner. And just when supporters thought it could get much wilder, Caitlyn Clark shocked the league with a spectacular comeback to the court. If I showed you a picture of every member of the Indiana Fever, every member of the Fever, the players, and I said, āWho in this picture is the tough?ā Fans typically bring up the big names and celebrities who make the headlines when discussing toughness in the WNBA.
She has shown us time and time again that she is an absolute to use a metaphor beast. However, in recent days, the focus of discussion has switched to one player who displayed a distinct kind of greatness. Lexi Hall is that player. Weāre going to go back first to the game against Minnesota where Kayla McBride decided that she was going to get Lexi with her elbow. A nasty play.
As I said, the Minnesota Links were the initial opponent. As usual, Lexi was glued to the defensive line, battling through screens, contesting shots, and working hard for every possession. So, foul there on Indiana on hold there. But then that is a technical. That is a technical dead ball contact. Then suddenly, Caleb McBrideās elbow struck her jaw directly.
This wasnāt a coincidence that the participants could subsequently dismiss. Hull collapsed on the ground, her legs buckling under her after a purposeful shot. She got hit with an elbow. And notice I did not say an inadvertent elbow because it was absolutely a deliberate elbow to her jaw. Could have broken her jaw. Thank god she did not.
Her leg folds underneath her. She crashes to the floor. She gets up, holds her face a little bit, and she comes back and continues to compete. Fans and teammates feared the worst for a few tense seconds. A concussion or a shattered jaw? That could have been the end of her season. However, in typical Lexi Hall form, she stood up, kept her composure, and immediately resumed her competition.
Just that one instance revealed everything about her mindset. But looking at the video, it just, you know, Gabby and I ran into each other. Unfortunate, unlucky. Um, I think we both have knots on our heads, so we both kept playing, so itās all right. The narrative didnāt end there, though. Days later, catastrophe struck once more during the match against the Seattle Storm.
me, it was just plain bad luck rather than malicious play. This league is so physical. Lexi been in the league for quite some time. Sheās pretty much used to it. And to me, it shows her character and her intensity as a warrior. Lexi is a warrior, bro. And Iām pretty sure she could dish it out as good as she can take it. And Iām for Lexi being a Indiana fever girl warrior.

Lexi and Gabby Williams collided while Lexi was chasing a loose ball. It was a horrible impact. She was had to follow concussion protocol after leaving the court. Guys, Finn is listening to this cuz she talked about the swelling actually being being in her side of vision. Did you glance up at the video board to like see it? Like did you look at it? No, I could see it looking out.
Like I could see it just from my own eyes. So I didnāt need to look anywhere. I knew it was going to be big. No way. So itās in your peripheral vision. Yes. Yes. It was literally like sticking out. I mean, itās still big right here, but it was bigger and I could see it. So they they brought it. The immediate aftermath was captured on camera.
A huge lump appeared on her forehead. She claimed that it was so large that she could actually see it in her peripheral vision. TV viewers called it one of the scariest things they had ever seen this season. So, itās really funny that you asked that because itās itās not doing great. I wish this was a filter. Um, but this is this is insane.
This is what I look like. Um, yeah, Iāve been wearing these glasses all day, but the knot is like gone. Iām still a little swollen here. The immediate aftermath was captured on camera. A huge lump appeared on her forehead. She claimed that it was so large that she could actually see it in her peripheral vision.
TV viewers called it one of the scariest things they had ever seen this season. She looks like she got into a 12round boxing fight. Folks, I got to say, if I see Lexi Hole ball with two black eyes, holy smokes, it what a sight to behold. Lexi Hole running out there with two black eyes balling up. Commentators made fun of the fact that she appeared to have had 12 rounds with either Mike Tyson or Clarissa Shields.
Lexi attempted to diffuse the situation by stating, āI wish this was a filter, but it wasnāt. It was authentic. She appeared to have just left a boxing ring, yet she was already getting ready for the next match. This is the noteworthy aspect. No facial fracture or concussion was discovered by scans. Lexi was allowed to play even though she appeared to have been in combat.
The majority of players would have rested, but Lexi isnāt wired that way. I imagine on Tuesday you got checked for concussion, facial fracture. Just how much of a sigh of relief was it that you didnāt have concussion or any kind of fracture in your face? Yeah, honestly when it happened I was like relieved because I could feel myself like I was good to go.
Like I felt really with it. Um they did all the tests I needed to do and um put ice on it right away. Try to, you know, keep the swelling down. But I felt good knowing that like obviously it could have been a lot worse. And um Iām grateful for the people online wanting to check on me and make sure that Iām okay.
But um I am okay. I havenāt been fully checked out. She joked with teammates about makeup artists concealing the damage, laughed about needing to cover the bruises for a photo session, and returned immediately to her work. She dismissed the question of her toughness by saying, āIf I can play, Iāll play. She played hard.
She didnāt just play. I mean, if I can play, I can. If I feel like I can play, I can play.ā You know, whether or not I I look good or not isnāt the problem. So, um yeah, I think for me, itās just the team is the most important thing. Getting winās most important thing. And if I can contribute in any way I can, thatās what Iām going to do.
So if itās a playing a little injured, playing a little hurt, that is during that same period, Lexi never once hesitated to make contact, put herself on the court for loose balls, and pulled down nine rebounds in a single game. She was fighting, chewing gum, and laughing as if nothing had happened despite having two black eyes. She ended up with nine rebounds in that game.
One time she went flying across to to go after something, a ball or to pick up somebody defense or whatever. And Iām like, āAh.ā Cuz Iām like, all Iām seeing is another head coming in her direction. But I say over and over again, āGive me a bunch of Lexis on it.ā Because of this, when her coach Stephanie White saw Lexi, she couldnāt help but smile.
She described it as the ideal illustration of toughness, the sort of grime that motivates a whole locker room. Although box scores are a topic of much discussion among fans, Lexi Hall offers Indiana something that cannot be quantified. Heart. She doesnāt grumble. She is not a failure. She simply plays through her agony rather than begging for calls.
F mentioned, you know, whenever she sees you with the two black eyes, she she smiles in a way because it just exemplifies your toughness. Just do you feel tough in these kinds of situations with these two black eyes? I mean, thatās what people keep telling me. Every time she sees me, she smiles and then she says, āIām so sorry.
ā Iām like, āYou donāt need to be sorry. This this is what it is.ā Um, and I when I when Iām playing, like, I forget about it. And then I go look in the mirror. Iām like, āOh, shit.ā Theyāre And she demonstrated to them what a real warrior looks like at a time when the fever most required resilience. The injury to Lexi Hull was frightening.
The bruises had a vicious appearance. However, it turned into a symbol and a reminder that the Indiana Fever team will persevere no matter how difficult things become. Yeah. Well, so when it happened, I had a photo shoot on Wednesday on our off day. So, I was like, āOh my god, Iām going to be looking horrible.
ā And originally, I was like, I just need to get the swelling to go down in my forehead. So, I put a patch, slept with it the next day, woke up, and I was like, okay, the bump is almost gone, but now I have two black eyes. So, that was tragic. Um, but I mean itās at this point itās unfortunately wonāt be able to hide it. People know, so just rolling with it.
Were you able to hide it for the makeup artist did a really really really good job and people that hadnāt met you before were like, āOh, I canāt even tell.ā Iām like, āOkay, thatās good. Weāll take it.ā But Iām hoping theyāll do some editing in in the post. As Lexi Hall demonstrated her resilience, Indiana Fever supporters received a moment they had been longing for, the unexpected reappearance of Caitlyn Clark.
There was conjecture over her groin injuries for weeks. She ought to miss the remainder of the season, according to some. Others asserted that she was far from prepared. When well-known people like Lisa Lesley even recommended that Clark should close it down, the commotion just got worse. Yeah. Yeah. Everyoneās like, āYou look beautiful.
ā Iām like, I know I look insane, but it honestly looks better now than it did when it first happened. So, um hopefully this goes down quick. And so she was all like, āHonestly, it look better now than what it did.ā Caitlyn Clark, however, isnāt made that way. She is a leader, a competitor, and most importantly, a basketball player.
Then it took place. Fans saw her stretching with the squad, performing routines, and moving intensely during pregame warm-ups. It was the first obvious indication that she wasnāt finished. Not even close. The scans which were performed by the feverās training team revealed no significant damage.
It was only a slight strain at most. That meant there would be no long-term hazard or risk to oneās job. Theyāre going to be playing um this game tonight and theyāve got three games then and thereās a good chance itās three free hits cuz like realistically does it really matter if you play the aces or the dream? I donāt think so.
I donāt think so. Iād rather play the Dream because I just think we match up better to the Dream. But like I donāt think thereās that much of a difference in level between those two teams. I think itās a realistically makes no odds which of these youāre playing, I think theyāre going to give you the same.
So as long as we donāt end up facing the Minnesota Links, who by the way, the Minnesota Links has blew a 21-point lead against the Seattle Storm. They can they are a team that if they get cold any you can you can get them in one game and all you have to do is do that twice out of three like in a best of three against the links Indiana are would be hoping that one of the three games they get hot and one of the three games the links get cold and then you can win a best of three series.
Caitlyn was doing more than only watching. She was getting ready, ramping up and awaiting the allcle to take the floor. The arena erupted in shock when she eventually took the court once more. But the fact that sheās warming up with the team is a huge positive is a legitimately huge positive for the Indiana Fever longterm.
It means Caitlyn Clark is probably coming back sooner. Soonish. And if you guys are wondering when soonish is, itās in the regular season. In the regular season is my assumption for when Kaitlyn Clarkās coming back. And I think a lot of you guys will be probably in agreement with that that Caitlyn Clark is probably going to be coming back in the regular season and we canāt complain about that.
Like look, if Caitlyn Clark comes back in the regular season, however, her mentality is what elevates Indiana more than her abilities. She doesnāt simply return to the court, she does so with a bang, reminding everyone that her goal is to compete, not to exercise caution. The return of Caitlyn Clark to the pitch felt more significant to Fever supporters than the return of a single player. It was optimism. It was faith.
It served as a reminder that Indiana has a superstar who will not give up no matter how difficult the season gets
